CORTONA D.O.C WINE

CORTONA MERLOT RESERVE
Variety
Merlot: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
Characteristics
Colour: lively garnet, at times with purple reflections, tending to become brick red with ageing; smell: scent of small fruits, with eventual hint of grass; taste: dry, harmonic and full bodied; alcohol content: 12,00% vol; minimum total acidity: 4,5 g/l; minimum net dry extract: 20,0 g/l.
CORTONA SANGIOVESE RESERVE
Variety
Sangiovese: minimum 85%, grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries and non-aromatic, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 15%.
Characteristics
Colour: from ruby red with a tendency to become red-orange with ageing; smell: smooth, intense and elegant; taste: dry and harmonic; alcohol content: 12,00% vol; minimum total acidity: 4,5 g/l; minimum net dry extract: 20,0 g/l.
CORTONA SYRAH E RISERVE
Variety

CORTONA VIN SANTO
Variety
Tuscan Trebbiano, Grechetto and Malvasia Bianca Lunga: jointly or alone, minimum 80%; grapes from other vines, having white berries, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 20%.
Characteristics
Colour: from golden to intense amber; smell: intense ethereal characteristic of mature fruit; taste: full, smooth with intense roundness; alcohol content: 17,00% of which a minimum of 14,5% carried out and a minimum of 2,5% to be carried out; minimum total acidity: 4,5 g/l; minimum net dry extract: 24,0 g/l.
CORTONA VIN SANTO RESERVE
Variety
Tuscan Trebbiano, Grechetto and Malvasia Bianca Lunga: jointly or alone, minimum 80%; grapes from other vines, having white berries, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 20%.
Characteristics
Colour: from golden to intense amber; smell: intense ethereal characteristic of mature fruit; taste: full, smooth with intense roundness; alcohol content: 17,00% of which a minimum of 14,5% carried out and a minimum of 2,5% to be carried out; minimum total acidity: 4,5 g/l; minimum net dry extract: 24,0 g/l.
CORTONA VIN SANTO OCCHIO DI PERNICE
Variety
Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera: jointly or alone, minimum 80%; grapes from other vines, having similar coloured berries, may be combined for the production of the said wine, recommended and/or authorised by the Province of Arezzo, up to a maximum of 20%.
Characteristics
Colour: between amber and topaz with a reddish shade that becomes brown with ageing; smell: intense, rich, complex, of mature fruit and other shades; taste: distinguished, persistent with a sweet aftertaste; alcohol content: 18,00% of which a minimum of 15% carried out and a minimum of 4,5% to be carried out; minimum total acidity: 4,5 g/l; minimum net dry extract: 25,0 g/l.

E’ giunto così il momento clou della X Selezione dei vini di Toscana con la premiazione dei vini partecipanti al concorso enologico promosso da Toscana Promozione insieme ad Enoteca Italiana che ha visto gareggiare circa 1000 vini.

Una Selezione di edizione in edizione sempre più rigida e che quest’anno richiedeva un punteggio minimo di 85 punti – secondo la metodologia dell’Union International des Oenologues – per superare la prova delle 9 commissioni d’assaggio ma che non ha intimorito il mondo del vino made in tuscany: ben 940 i vini in concorso dei quali 530 hanno superato il test, ossia il 56.4% delle etichette partecipanti. 322, invece, le aziende partecipanti di cui 247 hanno superato la prova (76.7%). Un risultato che conferma, ancora una volta, l’eccellenza dell’enologia regionale.
Adesso questo bouquet d’eccellenza sarà utilizzato, in Italia e all’estero come ambasciatore dell’enologia regionale nelle iniziative di promo-commercializzazione che saranno organizzate da Toscana Promozione in tutto il mondo.
